Series of panoramic images of life in the world’s cities forms the basis of the Urban Symphony project. All  images are shot with the same camera and one lens. This seeming limitation actually allows for maximum creative freedom.
Right now there are three thematic strands within the body of work: Movement, Moment and Monument. Click on each set below to view a selection of images.

The project continues to evolve. As at mid-2007 it is a projection performance with live improvisation by guitar virtuoso Nigel Gavin. The show is self-contained for spaces of various sizes and is available to travel.

A portfolio of limited edition prints is also growing. Selected images from the portfolio were most recently exhibited at the Obscura Gallery in Melbourne, Australia.

Watch the 15 minute sample slideshow with a compilation of audio clips taken from a performance at the Auckland City Art Gallery in 2006.  The music has been created live, on the spot, in response to the projected images, with no overdubs or playback tricks. Nigel really is a wizard and draws on his vast armoury of melodies and textures to create a hypnotic, meditative sound space.

I am actively pursuing opportunities for exhibition and performance of Urban Symphony - contact details available on the Contact page.
